Artistic Director Miranda is a full blue-blooded Atenean who hails from the City of Cagayan de Oro. He is a product of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan Development Communication major in Educational Communication. After his internship with an Advertising Agency in Cebu, he fully engaged himself with local, national, and international organizations through his various development works in the watershed, environment, and health as a media and communications officer for almost 13 years. Miranda is an experienced Cultural Worker and Arts Educator. With over 30 years of theatre experience, he has made his relevant career as an artistic director, stage director, actor,artist-researcher, workshop director, and consultant in various theatre engagements. He has equipped himself with formal theatre training for Filipino Improvisational Theater and Musical Theater Production at the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA). A 54-year-old theatrical association of artists and educators in the Philippines. Through CDOs Pasundayag Theater Company, he had his trainings with the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Pilipino’s Nonon Padilla, Irma Adlawan Marasigan and Olga Natividad. With Pasundayag’s productions such as Adios Papa (Ulilang Tahanan) and Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues. These productions have equipped him with the technical theatre and production management needed for the theatre. In 2001, he managed Maskara Youth Theatre Guild-Davao for almost 12 years. These enriching experiences have taught him the experimentation of youth theatre and resource management. In 2013, he became the Artistic Director of Teatro Pawan of Central Mindanao Colleges based in Kidapawan City. His representations highlight various engagements: Represented Davao City to the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO awards) Year 6; Participated in the 2015 International Theater Workshop focused on Physical Theater with Japanese actor Miyuki KAMIMURA as his mentor. In 2016, he participated in the Philippine National Theater Festival dubbed Tanghal 9: The National University and Community Theatre Festival of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. The festival was a two-part collaborative process of devising work (play creation) with touring performances in Luzon, National Capital Region, Visayas, and Mindanao. Further, he was an “Art Scholar” of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and graduated “With Honors” of the NCCA’s flagship project for the National Arts Month, Tampok: e-Turo Dula 2021. The said program offered five online theatre courses, which harnessed the vibrant praxis of theatre-makers from various networks in the archipelago. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines is the Philippines’ official government agency for culture. Currently, he is the Director for Student Affairs and Services, Marketing and Communications, and Publications Officer at Central Mindanao Colleges. On the side, he is a marketing and communications consultant, a visual artist, a graphic designer, and a hobbyist photographer.
