Ric Salanap began his theater career as a performer and then as a director at Christian Community Theater while still in high school. As a Kanlaon Theater Guild performing arts scholar, he pursued his bachelor’s degree in information technology at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod till 2011. During his time at the Guild, he also held the position of deputy director. Under the guild, Mr. Rudy Reveche, the Artistic Director of San Agustin Performing Arts, mentored him in stage direction. He was chosen Chair of Culture and Arts at the Provincial Youth Development Council of the Province of Negros Occidental from 2008 to 2010. During the Negros Summer Workshop at the University of St. La Salle, he studied movement and choreography with Rene Henojales. Basic stage direction with Gardy Labad of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ Committee on Dramatic Arts. Advance Stage Direction with Cris Millado of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and Dennis Gupa, a Canadian Graduate stage director.Performance dramaturgy with international choreographer and director Thalia Pura and Devise and Deconstruction for Theater and Playwriting with Palanca award winning Glen Mas. He directed plays entry to Kuris Theater Festival, Iloilo Theater Festival and Tanghal: National University and Colleges theater festival of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Bangkok Theater Festival. Currently working at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod as Creative and Multimedia In-charge, Artistic Director of Kanlaon Theater Guild and Festival Director of Cine Agustino Film Festival.
