Bio

Tanya Lopez is arts manager, cultural organizer and theater director. She is currently the Executive Director of The Negros Museum and the Director of the Artists HUB and Culture and Arts Program of the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod.
As an active advocate for the arts she established several cultural organizations and festivals in the Visayas, such as the The Performance Laboratory, Inc; the Teatrokon: The Western Visayas Theatre Network; West Visayas Association of Museums (where she is currently the President) and Visayan Artists Collective; and the CineKasimanwa West Visayas Film Festival, Sine Negrense Film Festival, Bakunawa Cinema of the Young; and the Kuris International Theatre Festival.
She is a Board Member of the Women Playwrights International – Philippines; Secretary of the International Playwrights Forum-Philippine Center; and Artistic Director of the Maskara Theatre Ensemble and Teatro Lingganay. She also served as secretary of the NCCA Committee on Dramatic Arts and is currently a member of Regional Council for History, Arts and Culture for Western Visayas.
She has organized/directed and managed projects/festivals for National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Cultural Center of the Philippines such as the Sanay Guro National Teacher’s Training for Special Program for the Arts; Likha Asya Asean International Festival; MUGNA: Towards a Sustainable Creative Industry of Negros Island; Panakayon Promotion of Visayan Culture; Panakayon sa Paranublion Visayas Collaborative Production; and the Ugnayan sa Sining Visayan Collaborative Touring Production among many others.
She teaches Theater Arts and Production to Teatro Lingganay (Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod) and Teatro Lorenzo (St. John Mary Vianney Seminary in San Carlos).
At present, she is taking her Masters in Philippine Culture, Heritage and Arts Development (MPCHAD) in the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies.
